Founded in the late nineties, Davies Smith Developments was born when Ian Smith of Construction Consultancy Services and Walter Davies of Davies Associates, collaborated their intellect and expertise. Together they managed the Distillery District for Gooderham & Worts resulting in the very successful creation of three co-operative condominium buildings aptly named 80 Mill Street, 70 Mill Street and 39 Parliament.

In 2000, Graham Chalmers joined Davies Smith Developments and eventually succeeded ownership from Walter Davies.

Since its inception, Davies Smith Developments has developed and constructed many award-winning condominium towers and has been touted as one of the leading developers for re-defining the landscape of the Greater Toronto Area and Southern Ontario. Davies Smith Developments is also credited as a leader in construction management.

With its progressive management approach towards construction and development, Davies Smith Developments is one of Canada’s premier fully integrated real estate development and construction companies.

Together with over 45 years of combined experience working in the real estate and construction industries Ian Smith and Graham Chalmers are the backbone and visionaries that lead the Davies Smith Development’s team.

Initially trained as a Quantity Surveyor in England, Ian Smith crossed borders to provide his expertise to such established companies as George Wimpey Canada Limited and Bramalea Limited before founding Davies Smith Developments.

Graham Chalmers

Co-Owner, Partner

With extensive knowledge in the field, Graham Chalmers was initially groomed as a Construction Superintendant before taking the lead as Construction Manager for such reputable companies as Ronto Development, Edifice Group, Mollenhauer, and Daniels. Graham then went on to spearhead and oversee the construction and development team at Davies Smith Developments.
